Available Services

Lessons are scheduled for 1 hour. The student may schedule multiple sessions.

A lesson maybe shortened if the student rider gets tired. Make up and rain dates should be coordinated with Instructor.

Adult Learn to Ride

Private lessons are given in a parking lot area, a park or a trail where there is limited
interference from cars or other cyclists. The student will learn skills to bike confidently and safely.

Topics that will be covered:

  • ABC Quick Check, Helmet Fit, Mounting the bike

  • Balancing, striding, gliding, and pedaling, Starting (power pedal) & Stopping​​

Shifting Gears

To provide an understanding of the shifting and cadence techniques and methodology that enables the bicyclist to travel comfortably. Explain to the student what power output means to the motion of the bicycle. How does cadence relate to power output and endurance? How can riders remember which gears are ‘lower’ and which are ‘higher’.

Group Riding

To demonstrate techniques and etiquette of riding in a group. Provide information on the importance of communication, awareness of other riders in close proximity and bike handling Lessons are scheduled for 1 hour. The student may schedule multiple sessions. 

Basic Bike Handling Maneuvers

To demonstrate 8 basic bicycle handling drills that are designed to enhance your bike handling skills and increase your Capability to avoid road hazard and collisions.

  • Mounting and dismounting, Starting and stopping, Straight line/Shifting, Scanning.

  • Scanning, Signaling and Merging or Turning, Quick stop, Rock Dodge,Avoidance weave, Instant turn.

How to Navigate the Road/Infrastructure

This is an on bike, skill development bike ride with the instructor. We will learn strategiesto overcome common barriers to cycling in today’s changing infrastructure. SituationalAwareness, Predictive Decision Making, Communication, Cooperation, Self Reliance andResponsibility.​
